How to make lazy sushi – step-by-step recipe

Lazy sushi is sushi with your favorite ingredients. Their advantage is that they don’t need to be rolled, which saves time in preparation.

To prepare lazy sushi you will need:

For the rice:

  • 100 grams of rice
  • 110 ml of water

For the rice dressing:

  • 15 ml of vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon of sugar
  • half a teaspoon of salt

For the sushi filling:

  • 100 g of lightly salted salmon
  • 100 g of cream cheese
  • 1 sheet of nori seaweed
  • 100 g of cucumbers
  • black sesame seeds

Choose the quantity of ingredients and fillings according to your taste.

How to make lazy sushi?

  1. Thoroughly rinse the rice with water, preferably several times until the water is clear. Then put it on the stove and add water. Once it boils, reduce the heat to a minimum and cook for 15 minutes with the lid closed. After it’s done, let the rice stand for another 15 minutes under the lid.
  2. To make the dressing, mix 15 ml of vinegar with sugar and salt until completely dissolved.
  3. Then add this dressing to the rice and mix.
  4. Finely chop 1 sheet of nori and mix it with the rice.
  5. Dice the salmon, cucumber, and optionally avocado or anything else, so that they fit into the ice cube trays, which will be the sushi mold.
  6. Place plastic wrap on top of the mold.
  7. Arrange the ingredients in the following order, it’s very important for the sushi to look beautiful: first a square of salmon, then cheese, then cucumber, and finally rice mixed with nori.
  8. Lightly press all layers with your hand.

You can serve the sushi immediately or refrigerate it and then serve it. Enjoy!
